What is audio mastering? Wikipedia says: Audio Mastering.
My answer would be that mastering is preparing music for being played just like any music that is out there.
This explanation does sound easy. But doing this is rather difficult. The more you learn about it the harder it gets. Which is the fun part.
Since 2007 its possible to follow courses. I don't do standard courses but let the students decide what they want to learn. Mainly mixing theories together with hands-on practical examples. You mix with your ears and giving students the opportunity to hear whats differences in sound can be achieved is easier to explain than writing it down. It's more fun anyway.
Nowadays a lot of the tools out there are still based on the very basic principles. So even when it seems the possibilities seem to be sheer overpowering. But with the right theoretic background it always is possible to make it work for you. Knowledge is power.
I have a nice pro/audiophile studio where people can learn about a lot of aspects of music making. Or I can come to you to help you with your setup and teach you getting the most out of it. Even when I've never used the gear before or read the manual I've always managed to use it anyway and even teach the owner some new tricks about it.
There are other more extensive courses covering all aspects and taking up several days. I'm just giving shorter ones. Providing people an effective way to brush up on their knowledge and get started making music on a more professional level. Some of my students have made albums and singles which were released worldwide.
